Did you know?
Electric cars do not have CC.
Formula 1 engines are 1600cc.
HP = Torque × RPM / 5252
1 Horsepower equals approximately 746 watts.
The term “horsepower” was coined by James Watt.
How to Use CC to HP Calculator
A very short, clear set of steps to convert engine displacement (cc) into an estimated horsepower (HP). Note: cc is displacement; HP depends on engine design, so the calculator uses a selected conversion assumption (HP per litre).
Steps (3 simple steps)
- Choose Conversion Type — make sure CC to HP is selected.
- Enter CC value — type the engine displacement into the field labelled Enter CC Value (e.g.,
1500). - Click Convert — press the Convert button and read the result shown as HP.
Example (with a short math box)
Inputs:
- Conversion Type: CC to HP
- Enter CC value: 1500
Formula (used by the calculator):
HP = (CC ÷ 1000) × (HP per litre)
Common example assumptions and results for 1500 cc (1.5 L):
- If the calculator assumes 50 HP per litre → HP = (1500 ÷ 1000) × 50 = 1.5 × 50 = 75 HP
- If it assumes 75 HP per litre → HP = 1.5 × 75 = 112.5 HP
- If it assumes 100 HP per litre → HP = 1.5 × 100 = 150 HP
